Samhwa Paint Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO Jin-soo Oh) signed a business agreement with the Korea Color Universal Design Association (President Park Yeon-sun) for the research and development of color universal design for facilities for the developmentally disabled.

Previously, last year, the two companies signed a business agreement focusing on color research for color universal application in spaces with developmental disabilities and development of color guides tailored to the viewpoint of users (disabled people). Afterwards, based on research studies and overseas cases for users of residential facilities with developmental disabilities, a color universal design (CUD) for facilities with developmental disabilities was planned, and colors were applied.

This year, we will expand this further and promote the development of a color universal design guide for the disabled in local community facilities. In addition to color development considering the emotional impact of people with developmental disabilities, we plan to complete a comprehensive color guide for welfare facilities for the disabled by expanding to color development for the visually impaired, such as the elderly with color blindness and color blindness.

An official from Samhwa Paint said, “Currently, we have completed the color plan for the Bucheon Welfare Center for the Disabled, the first general center for the disabled in Gyeonggi-do (1991), and the space improvement project is underway at the Gangdong Green Narae Welfare Center in Seoul to support vocational rehabilitation for the disabled.” He said, "We will continue the color universal design business that can be applied to any place that expects to increase safety and convenience in space use, emotional stability and positive behavioral change," he said.
