SUPERZINC 190BG(S)

SUPERZINC 190BG(S) is designed mainly on inorganic zinc silicate for preventing long-term corrosion of steel. It provides good anticorrosion by cathodic protection effect and has good weathering and heat resistance (withstands temperature up to 400°C).
Used for anticorrosion of steel structure, plant area, tank exterior, offshore platforms, etc. But, Except direct contact to acid or alkali without adequate top coat.

Procedure

1. Surface preparation

  • Steel : Blast all surface in accordance with SSPC-SP10(“Near White”, SIS Sa 2 1/2).
  • All blasted steel must be free of oil, moisture, re-rust and any other contaminants.

2. Environmental Conditions

  • Relative humidity : 50~85%
  • Over 5°C is ideal for painting and hardening.
  • The surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent moisture condensation.
  • Drying time can be different under -5°C.

3. Application Equipment

  • Conventional or Airless spray, power mixer
  • Airless spray: Tip size-0.019~0.023inch Output pressure-60~126atm (*Airless spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment) Thinning ratio: Up to 30%(vol)

Caution for usage

1) Mix the material according to designed mixing ratio and use after stirring it until uniformly blended. And, Use the mixed paint within pot life.

2) Avoid applying paint on rainy days, high humidity(Over 90%) day, low temperature(Under -5°C) condition.

3) Stir powder into liquid until well dispersed, using a power mixer. And, filter through 30mesh.

4) Below surface preparation grade of SSPC-SP10, the adhesion can be weak.

5) Top coat with oil types can be peeling by saponification reaction.

6) When applying top coat, “Mist Coat” is required for removing pinhole and bubbling.

7) Recoat with same paint is impossible. And, if you want to recoat by the film below, Use epoxy zinc type paints.

8) Use summer type paint such as high humidity day from June to August, the high humidity can make problems like dust, workability problems, etc.

9) Be careful with problem with the Mud Crack. It can happen above D.F.T 150μm. But, It can be changed by weather condition.

Caution for handling

1) Store it indoor (5~35°C) condition, avoiding heat and open flame. And, keep it standing and being closed.

2) Dispose of the waste paint through the waste disposal company designated by the Ministry of Environment.

3) Since this product is a chemical product, it may deteriorate during long-term storage. Please refer to our customer center for the products that have p assed this period.

Warning

  • Please refer to the warning in the appendix

Packing & Storage

  • Subsequent topcoat : SUPERRUBBER, SUPERPOXY, SUPERTHANE, etc.
